Last night Eric “SuperBad” Pitt of MentorMob teamed up with BigMarker to host a webinar on emerging tech tools for the classroom—all as part of the ongoing discussion on the future of education facilitated by Connected Educators Month.
During the webinar, attendees “learned how to use MentorMob to create digital learning playlists to guide learning, then discovered ways to integrate this cool tool with other free and useful Web 2.0 tools to design engaging learning experiences for students.”
Susan Oxnevad moderated the discussion and walked through using a number of tools that can connect and empower both students and teachers, including ThingLink, Wikispaces, Wallwisher, VoiceThread, EduClipper, SlideRocket, and Screencast-O-Matic—all of which are organized below in a Learning Playlist.
She also explained how MentorMob’s Chrome extension allows students and teachers to instantly add an interesting website to a Learning Playlist without needing to open a new window or tab.
Since students will be transitioning to a classroom environment where collaboration is much more integral to the learning experience, it’s exciting to see different educational technologies playing nicely together as well!
And if you’d like to dig into some of these new sites more thoroughly, just click through one of Susan’s several Learning Playlists for in-depth walkthroughs of specific online learning tools, or view her SlideRocket presentation here.
