Integrating Technology For Active Life-long Learning (IT4ALL)
LAURA for Active Lifelong Learning (IT4ALL) is an informal volunteer network that offers free and low cost professional development workshops for educators on how to use Moodle and integrate technology for active lifelong learners (IT4ALL) via blended (BL) and blended online learning (BOL) courses, workshops, communities of learning, international collaborative projects, and live online events. The workshops at IT4ALL try to promote lifelong, authentic, collaborative learning. This means that participants engage in collaborative social learning by doing hands-on activities, creating artifacts, and providing ongoing feedback to the other members in the discussion forms. You may join the workshops available as a participant or as a facilitator. You may also request to have a course of your own for free or to have one designed for you at a low cost so you can teach a course of own.We offer professional development workshop courses for teachers that include, Moodle for Teachers (Orientation, Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced and Teacher Administrators beginners and advanced levels), creating WebQuests, e-portfolios, blended learning, google docs for collaborative learning and research, academic writing, TESOL, Learning English Online (LEO), English grammar (LEGO), Blogging with Wordpress, Integrating technology for blended learning, facilitating online classes, and International Writing Exchange for high school and college students. All the Moodle for Teacher workshops at IT4ALL are free (scholarships) and low-cost ($10). There are 4 levels: Orientation, Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. You may join a Moodle for teacher administrator at two levels for a low cost. The list of courses and start dates are available in the center of this page or you may subscribe to our Google calendar. IT4ALL embraces a life long authentic learning perspective where participants are responsible for their own learning. The facilitators guide and facilitate the participants' learning journey, but the participants are required to be active in all the workshops. The participants can access the content, interact with the other members and the facilitators, and work on the assignments anywhere and at anytime. However, since most of the workshops are only 4 weeks long, participants are expected to be actively involved and to do their very best to keep up with the weekly tasks. Most of the courses and workshops at IT4ALL are free for members who receive scholarships, but donations are always appreciated since the network is self-funded (donation box). IT4ALL is run by volunteers who are passionate about online learning. You are invited to join the team of facilitators and contribute your time and expertise.
